Sculpture "the Motherland calls!" the compositional center of the monument-ensemble "to Heroes of Stalingrad battle" on Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd. One of the tallest statues in the world, the highest statue in Russia and Europe (without pedestal — the highest statue in the world at the time of construction for 22 years).
The monument is a Central part of a triptych, which is monument "back front" in Magnitogorsk and "Warrior-liberator" in Berlin's Treptow Park. It is understood that the sword, forged on the banks of the Urals, and then was raised by the Motherland in Stalingrad and lowered after the Victory in Berlin.
