I'd love to tell you about Maslenitsa. Maslenitsa is one of the most popular festival in Russia. The most important (and my favorite) part about it is bliny (Russian name for pancakes). They are given to family and friends all through the week. Bliny are eaten with jam. sour cream, caviar and butter. Ancient Russians believed that by eating a pancake they were getting part of the sun's life.
I love visiting my grandma's at this event because she's the best at baking pancakes and having family time with.
