If you are studying English, you are joining one billion other people, who are engaged in the same pursuit. English is the most widely spoken language in the world. Almost every school in the world teaches English to their students. There are numerous causes, why English is so widely spoken. The first reason that might pop in your head might be that England had vast colonies around the world. It definitely the main reason, why English is so important right now. But, it definitely is not the only reason. English is an official language in about 50 sovereign states. Wherever in the world you travel, it is a big chance that you can use only English. English is also the official language of many, many institutions and organisations. If you don't speak English, it will be very hard to land a decent job, irrespective of your location in the world.     - I suppose the number of languages for studying depends on the person’s own capacity, motivation, natural abilities etc. Personally I think motivation is one of the most important factors. I would like to learn more than three foreign languages. They would be German, French, Italian and Japanese. - People face some problems while learning the languages. There are many confusing oddities such as homophones, homographs, homonyms, and inconsistent spellings that make languages difficult to learn and easy to misunderstand. There are so many rules and exceptions to the rules that it is highly confusing to other language speakers. Learning a new foreign language is never еаsy.
