Tyler Lee Hoechlin (September 11, 1987) is an American actor who got his bigbreak starring as Tom Hanks  son in the film Roadto Perdition (2002). Fortelevision he is known for playing the role of Martin Brewer on 7th Heaven and the role of Derek Hale on the MTV series Teen Wolf. Hoechlin was born in Corona, California, to Lori and Don Hoechlin. He also has two brothers,Tanner and Travis, and a sister, Carrie Hoechlinbegan playing baseball at the age of seven. He played infield for ArizonaState University  and the BattleCreek Bombers of the Northwoods League. In 2008, he played infield for the UC Irvine Anteaters. Hebegan acting at the age of nine. His performance as Michael Sullivan, Jr. in Roadto Perdition led to himgetting the role of Martin Brewer in the show 7thHeaven in 2003. Hoechlin was nominated for a 2004 Teen Choice Awardfor Breakout Male Star. Hestarred in the 2007 DavidDeCoteau film GrizzlyRage and was in the 2008movie Solstice. He also starred in an episodeof Castleinits second season. He appeared alongside OwenWilson and Christina Applegate in the 2011 movie HallPass. He also plays werewolf Derek Hale in the television series TeenWolf.
